Dear Colleagues,

It is with great pleasure that I introduce you to this special event of the newborn EHNS Academy: the “OPHLs from A to Z”, the first European course entirely dedicated to open partial surgery of the larynx.
In the latest few years laryngeal surgery has known an important growth, especially in open partial laryngectomy. In this extremely precise surgery, every minimal surgical and technical detail impacts on oncological and functional outcome.
Our experience, and the relative rarity of this type of disease, persuaded us that partial laryngeal surgery needs to be learnt also by means of a specific course, entirely dedicated to the practical/propaedeutic steps of OPHLs.
Great emphasis will be given to relive surgery and the cadaveric dissection carried out by skill surgeons and projected in 3D on big screen, which will allow the participant to better understand the advantages and disadvantages of each surgical procedure, focusing on the pathway of spreading of laryngeal cancer.
Courses will take place at San Giovanni Bosco Hospital and Anatomy Institute of University of Turin (map).
The aim of the Course is strictly practical.
Great interest will be the improvement of manual skills and of the strategy to approach this surgery.
